Heat a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add 1/2 tsp coconut oil.
Once melted, toast the cardamom, nutmeg, and maca powder in the oil for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the bone broth and almond/coconut milk. Whisk in the cacao powder, cinnamon, and clove until smooth.
Heat gently until steaming, then remove from heat. Stir in the sweetener, if using.
Pour into a mug, and optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg or a cinnamon stick.
